Certificate Programs

Offered by UNH Professional Development & Training

In Portsmouth, Manchester, and Durham

The noncredit Certificate Programs of UNH Professional Development & Training are designed to provide you with practical knowledge and skills that help you launch a new career or advance your current profession.

Requirements of Certificate Programs

Requirements for completion vary depending on the certificate—some consist of specific required seminars, while others allow you to choose seminars from a selected variety of topics. Seminars are taught by practicing professionals from the field and content is designed to provide practical skills that you can apply in the workplace.

You are required to complete your Certificate Program within two years from the date of enrollment. You must maintain at least 80% class attendance and complete the requirements of the program including any required seminars and electives. Most seminars that are part of a Certificate Program are offered each semester or on a rotating basis, so that in most cases you can complete your program within one year.

Each Certificate Program is comprised of a small number of required seminars and many also have two or three additional electives. As a general policy, required seminars will not be waived; however, if you have previous training or experience in the seminar area, with permission, a substitution may be allowed.

UNH reserves the right to change or terminate certificate programs and/or requirements from time to time.

Cost and How to Enroll

The cost of each certificate program varies and depends on which seminars/courses you need to take to fulfill the program requirements. Basically, the cost is the sum total cost of all the seminars/courses that need to be taken.

There is also a $20 enrollment fee for each certificate program.

You don't need to apply to enroll in a Certificate Program. There are no prerequisites. You can simply enroll by clicking on the link on the Certificate description page.

To find out what seminars are currently offered for any given certificate program, click on the the certificate program description. A list of seminars is provided at the bottom of the page. Seminar descriptions also indicate if the seminar is part of a Certificate Program, but you do not need to be enrolled in a program to take the seminar on its own.
