RENEW™ Facilitator Virtual Training Institute
Training Dates: March 10, 17, 24, & 31 and April 7, 2022
Time: 9:30am-1:30pm ET | Location: online via Zoom | Cost: $800 per participant
This interactive online training prepares school and community staff to facilitate the Rehabilitation for Empowerment, Natural supports, Education, and Work (RENEWTM) model and process. RENEW is a youth-directed planning and support process designed to meet the needs of young people with emotional and behavioral challenges transitioning from school to adult life.
- Modules 1 and 2: Orientation to the RENEW Process, youth and family engagement, personal futures planning.
- Modules 3 and 4: Team facilitation, progress monitoring, resource development, and transition strategies.
- Module 5: Problem-solving for facilitators, education and support strategies, employment supports, and planning for adult living and careers.
Who Should Attend:
Middle and high school general and special educators and paraeducators, psychologists, community mental health workers, health care providers, social workers, and youth and family counselors supporting youth ages 12-25.
A Note on Successful Implementation of RENEW
It is highly recommended that any organization interested in providing RENEW to youth begin by establishing an implementation team and a plan to receive ongoing coaching. Having the right structures and supports in place will help Facilitators maintain fidelity to the RENEW model, and ensure the team is tracking the data they need to measure outcomes and make informed decisions.
