It is a societal expectation that striving for greater achievements and rewards, constantly reaching new plateaus, and meeting higher standards is everyone’s goal. When someone is seemingly avoiding the chance to succeed or perhaps actually refusing opportunities, it’s baffling. However, being more successful may mean leaving a predictable way of life and vaulting in the realm of the unknown. This session will explore the success sabotage/avoidance phenomenon and offer suggestions for helping supervises, colleagues, and maybe even oneself, understand and manage it.
