Workshop 3: Keeping It Real: Strategically Negotiating, Enhancing, and Solidifying Your Academic Job Offer

This workshop empowers graduate and post-doctoral students to navigate the negotiation process with confidence and poise. Participants will learn the art of negotiation, including what to ask for—distinguishing between one-time and recurring costs—and how to effectively handle pivotal conversations, such as the department chair call. Additional topics include leveraging a counteroffer and understanding the impact of gender dynamics in the negotiation process.
