About the event:
Beyond the Border: A Critical Dialogue Series engages NH-based practitioners with their peers outside of the Granite State! This year’s second event will provide invaluable insight into the criminal justice system and offer strategies for reform, and advocacy.

Our featured guest Marlon Peterson is the Executive Director of the College and Community Fellowship and host of the DEcarcerated Podcast. In addition to authoring Bird Uncaged, he has written, developed programs, lectured, organized, and advocated alongside the formerly incarcerated, victims of gun violence, womxn, immigrants, and young people.  Marlon is also a Senior Atlantic Fellow, a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, and an inaugural Aspen Civil Society Fellow. He also sits on the Board of Directors Center for Justice Innovation,  and the Village Capital Justice Tech Advisory Board.  His TED Talk, "A Call For Criminal Justice Reform," has amassed over 1.2 million views, and you can usually find him playing the 6-bass with a steelband during the summers in his hometown of The Republic of Brooklyn, NY. He just won his fifth steelpan competition this past Labor Day at the Brooklyn Museum.
