Course Description

In this session, attendees will learn about the top three invasive insects of greatest concern to our trees and forests: emerald ash borer, hemlock woolly adelgid and Asian longhorned beetle. The instructor will share information about the life cycles, identifying signs and symptoms of infestations, and management techniques for each pest. Public works and other municipal officials learn about where these insects are found, how to recognize an infested tree, how they spread to new locations, and what public works and citizens can do to help slow the spread.

This course is being offered in partnership with The Speaking for Wildlife Program, a volunteer effort of UNH Cooperative Extension. Support for the program comes from the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, the NH Charitable Foundation, the Davis Environmental Foundation, the NH Fish and Game Department and the NH Natural Heritage Bureau.
