Course Description

What is it about the rugged landscape of the Granite State that has helped create four national Poets Laureate (Robert Frost, Maxine Kumin, Donald Hall, and Charles Simic)? Join award-winning NH poet, writer and amateur naturalist Hope Jordan in a guided appreciation of the nature-based poetry of these and other NH bards. She will lead discussions on how landscapes inform written work, facilitate exercises in writing and revising your own poems, and share advice and knowledge of both publishing and the natural world. We’ll plan to end the course with a guided nature walk and poetry writing prompt. Bring your love of the outdoors and your affection for – or just curiosity about -- poetry.
