Dreyer, Denmark, 1955), “Vertigo” (Alfred Hitchcock, USA, 1958), “Cléo from 5 to 7” (Agnès Varda, France, 1962), “Mirror” (Andrei Tarkovsky, USSR, 1975), “Close-up” (Abbas Kiarostami, Iran, 1989), “Mulholland Dr.” (David Lynch, USA & France, 2001), and “Portrait of a Lady on Fire” (Céline Sciamma, France, 2019). The films do not have a single theme, but all have been rated in the 50 best films ever produced in the Sight and Sound 2022 survey of the world’s top film critics. Come, watch, and see if you agree.
