Course Description

The NH DCYF Caregiver Pre-Service Training provides initial training for caregivers in the process of becoming licensed foster and/or adoptive caregivers for children in the care of Division for Children, Youth and Families (DCYF). The completion of the training series in its entirety is a requirement to become a licensed foster caregiver in NH. The training provides caregivers with foundational knowledge needed to care for children and youth who have experienced separation, trauma, and loss. This trauma-informed curriculum encourages participants to expand their parenting framework to understand and meet the unique needs of children and youth in care.
