As the saying goes, “It’s complicated.” This course aims to clarify the differences between a town “assessment” versus an “appraisal” of your real estate and answer questions such as: What rules apply to all assessments and appraisals? Is the value on your tax bill really what the sale price might be? What if your tax card contains errors? (Get yours free from your town office!)  This course will also help decipher the information on your tax card, demystify the tax abatement process, describe New Hampshire elderly property tax exemptions, explain Current Use and break down how property taxes are calculated. Have more questions you have always wanted to ask an appraiser? This course includes a PowerPoint presentation and questions are strongly encouraged. Presenter: Marsha Campaniello Marsha Campaniello has been a New Hampshire certified general real estate appraiser for more than 20 years, specializing in bank financing, tax abatement, eminent domain and estate planning. She has also provided court testimony, written articles and taught appraisal-related courses. Campaniello served as a conversion project manager for a bank software company both domestically and internationally and spent years in bank management. She is now content to play in her permaculture gardens and maybe write a book or two.
