Course Description

We're spilling some hot tea about an icy topic- liquids and treated salts for winter operations! In this two-hour session, we'll discuss misconceptions and gossip about materials to help reduce chlorides in anti- and de-icing operations, and give you the straight truth about adding new materials to your winter operations toolbox (want some sugar with that?). We'll review how they work, when they work, and how to increase your program's efficiency and effectiveness, including even cost-effectiveness, while being aware of your environmental footprint.

There's a lot of (beet?) juicy gossip out there about innovations in winter ice-fighting materials- pull up a seat and let's spill some tea!

This course aims to debunk common misconceptions surrounding the use of chlorides, sand, and other materials for winter road and parking lot maintenance. We’ll focus on the use of innovative materials to achieve Chloride reduction in winter operations. Through dialogue and case studies, instructors and presenters will provide participants with essential insights into dispelling myths and understanding the benefits of alternative winter maintenance practices.
