Course Description

Many people quietly struggle with mental health challenges that can affect relationships, communication and daily interactions. This course explores how to better understand and support family members, friends or others who may be experiencing issues such as anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, narcissism, bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder. Participants will learn practical communication strategies and approaches for navigating difficult interactions more effectively. While not licensed clinicians, the presenters bring extensive experience teaching these topics to nurses, physicians and other health care professionals nationwide. The course also examines ageism in health care and offers strategies for advocating effectively when navigating medical care and provider relationships.
