Course Description

One of the encouraging realities of aging is that research continues to show lifestyle choices often play a greater role than genetics in supporting quality of life and longevity. This course explores the “Big Five” of healthy aging: exercise and resistance training, nutrition, adequate sleep, social connections and a sense of purpose through passions, hobbies and interests. Participants will review current research, discuss practical strategies and learn what matters most for healthy aging. Additional attention will be given to exercise and resistance training with tips for strengthening and enhancing fitness programs for older adults.
