Course Description

More adult children today are remaining in or returning to their parents’ homes because of financial pressures, health concerns, divorce and other life circumstances. Some maintain largely independent lives while others continue to navigate family expectations and household rules. This discussion-based course explores changing family dynamics, questions of independence and the evolving relationships between parents and adult children living under the same roof. Participants are encouraged, though not required, to read the presenter’s novel Courtship in Purgatory for additional perspective on the topic.
