Course Description

Be prepared to navigate the inner workings of the FLSA and state wage and hour law. In this workshops, we'll learn about your obligations as an employer regarding wage and hour compliance, how to mitigate overtime expenditures, and how to avoid common wage and hour pitfalls. 

Topics covered will include:

• Fundamental federal and state laws covering hours worked, time-keeping, overtime, minimum wage, payroll period requirements, and independent contractor status
• Considerations regarding remote access and the Portal to Portal Act; trends in wage and hour enforcement
• Handling claims before the U.S. Department of Labor and the NH Department of Labor
• EEO-1 reporting requirements
• Overtime exemptions, particularly the so-called "white collar” exemptions
