Course Description

As our skill at engaging people in constructive conversations grows, we’re able to get better results from others and reduce the emotional wear and tear we experience from having difficult conversations.

Whether it’s conducting a performance review, giving constructive feedback on the fly, or bringing up a difficult issue, knowing how to engage others in conversations that lead to non-defensive, collaborative conversations is one of the most important professional (and life) skills one can have.

In this program, we will explore how to:

  1. Bring up difficult issues in a way that minimizes defensiveness
  2. Make sure “constructive feedback” is actually constructive
  3. Create Psychological Safety, and by doing so, increase other people’s willingness to talk candidly, rather than shut down, get defensive, and/or engage in passive-aggressive expressions of their upset feelings.
  4. Get a derailed conversation back on track

Please note that each student will receive David Lee's book "Dealing with a Difficult Co-Worker. Vol. 1 of the Courageous Conversations at Work Series"

Book Fee is factored in the tuition
