Course Description
Embark on a four-part workshop series to master your semester as a TA. Each workshop features a lively panel of faculty, staff, former TAs, and peers, covering essential topics like preparing for your first day, classroom management, working with your lead professor, and utilizing Canvas. Additionally, we'll introduce resources from UNH’s Educational Excellence & Effectiveness Team.
Workshops are held monthly and tailored for first-time TA’s. Each session focuses on a central theme, with diverse panelists from various university programs and disciplines, along with Graduate School Faculty Fellows, providing key insights and answering your questions.

Learn how to prepare for your first day, manage expectations and time, use Canvas effectively, understand UNH rules and policies, and address initial concerns and questions. - October 1st, 12:00-1:30pm, Memorial Union Building Room 162: Master the Classroom!
Discover classroom management techniques, collaborate with lead instructors, and explore fair and efficient grading principles and practices. - November 6th, 12:00-1:30pm, Memorial Union Building Room 162: Mid-Semester Tune-Up!
Check-in on your progress, adjust as needed, and use feedback effectively. Then, discuss general concerns and find solutions. - December 4th, 12:00-1:30pm, Memorial Union Building Room 162: Finish Strong!
Prepare for evaluations and finals, manage grade-related conflicts, and reflect on your experiences. Learn what to do/not to do for next time and share things you wished you knew before.
