Out of the Attic and Into the Hand: Part 2

During this week of instruction, students will learn how to safely remove old hair from a bow and put fresh hair back onto the stick. Skills learned/topics include:

  • Scanning stick with client
  • Basic cleaning/polishing of stick
  • Selection and proper storage of horsehair
  • Business tips on running a shop (setting up your bench/insurance)
  • Discussions about sustainable options for stick and hair ( synthetic hair/composite vs. wood bows) for schools, students, and professionals
