Course Description

New Workshop!

(This four-hour seminar can be used to fulfill requirements in the PMI CCR Strategic and Business Management Topics area.)
In today’s outsourcing environment, the terms and conditions of a contract can result in the ultimate success or failure of your project. The project manager, although often not directly involved in the legal side of the negotiations must be able to intelligently discuss contract options well enough to add value to the discussion. As a project manager you must be prepared to ensure that your interests are being protected contractually, and you can do this by ensuring proper oversight of the product or project goal and by agreeing on the processes to be utilized. In this workshop, we will discuss different contract types, their associated risks and benefits, and how they might apply to your environment. This workshop is geared to project managers currently subcontracting or outsourcing projects, or evaluating the potential benefits and risks of doing so to an outside vendor. This is also an excellent opportunity for project managers preparing for the PMP exam who want to hone their skills in Contract Management.
