Course Description

New Workshop!

(This 4-hour seminar can be used to fulfill requirements in the PMI CCR Technical Topics area.)
In this workshop, we will look at the concept of Quality Management (QM) from the PMI perspective, expanding beyond that to look at the worldwide issues that led to nearly universal adoption of Six Sigma methodology. We'll examine quality issues in the U.S. during the last decades of the 20th century, the early formulation of the quality movement, and the impact of QM on the technology and automobile industries. We'll also discuss early leaders of the movement and their contributions to the Japanese manufacturers. This workshop is geared to experienced project and program managers who must evaluate the adequacy of Quality Management in their organizations as well as to managers who want to understand and assess at a high level what Six-Sigma means and how it might apply to their organizations, their teams, and themselves. This workshop is also an excellent opportunity for PMs who need additional PDUs in the Technical Training area.
