Course Description

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This program is traditionally a face-to-face classroom training program, but the Spring 2021 semester section will be held online as we prioritize distance learning in response to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

New Hampshire, along with many other states, now requires that schools screen children in Kindergarten and 1st grade for dyslexia. A huge component of these screens are phonemic awareness and phonics concepts. But, just conducting the assessment doesn't help the student. Now you have all this data, what's next?

Review and renew your understanding of phonemic awareness and phonics in this interactive workshop geared to help K-2 teachers support their students develop strong phonemic awareness and phonics foundations. We will review the development of these important skills and share quick, fun, interactive ways to practice in your classroom.
