Course Description

New Featured Speaker!

Co-sponsor: Institute for Learning and Development
Although dyslexia is the most recognized reading disorder and the most researched, many people assume students with dyslexia read backwards and confuse their b/d’s and p/q’s.  While this may be true for some dyslexics, the level of severity can vary as well as the obstacles they face.

In this interactive workshop, participants will become familiar with current research, the hallmark characteristics of students with dyslexia, and gain an understanding of their academic needs.  Participants will learn instructional strategies for increasing student success in the areas of phonological awareness, decoding, reading comprehension, reading fluency, and spelling.
