Course Description

Private Swim Lessons - Summer 2023

NOTE: Due to a large volume of private swim lesson enrollments, registration is closed for the remainder of the summer. We apologize for any inconvenience. Campus Recreation is expecting to provide lessons in the fall, although specific information is not yet available.

UNH Campus Recreation offers Private swim lessons (one participant) for adults or children who need individual attention, have special needs, learn better in a one-on-one environment, or have unique scheduling needs. Students must be at least 3 years old.

Private lessons are 30 minutes in length and can be purchased in blocks of 4 or 8:

  • Block of 4 lessons = $130 per student
  • Block of 8 lessons = $220 per student

Please read the following information thoroughly!

Registration Information:

  • Summer 2023 Lesson Enrollment Open Dates:
    • Thursday, June 8 @ 7 pm - THESE SESSIONS ARE FULL
    • Thursday, June 22 @ 7 pm - THESE SESSIONS ARE FULL
    • Thursday, July 6 @ 7 pm (last session to enroll for 8-block)
    • Thursday, July 20 @ 7 pm - THIS SESSION WILL NOT OPEN FOR ENROLLMENT. ALL LESSONS ARE FULL.
  • Limited spots are available - sessions tend to fill quickly.
  • Students must be at least 3 years old.
  • The session blocks on the right will indicate whether there are openings (i.e. "Enroll Now/Add to Cart"). If the session is full, unavailable, or the session block does not show, choose another open option or enroll during the next enrollment period. Please note this is done to control the quantity of lessons to provide the best level of response and scheduling of lessons. Click the '+' sign on the block(s) on the right to enroll in either a block of 4 or 8 lessons, as available.
  • We recommend adding the lessons to your cart first, which will bring you through the Log In and registration process.
  • You will be asked to indicate an anticipated swim level during the registration process. Consult the Swim Level Chart. If you are unsure what your or your child's swim level is, select 'unsure' during registration and the swim instructor will do a swim evaluation during the first lesson.
  • You will be asked to choose lesson day & time availability during the registration process. Families must choose at least 2 days per week of availability. This allows flexibility for rescheduled lessons, if needed, to ensure the number of lessons purchased can be completed by the final date of summer lessons (Aug 18). We suggest that you do not enroll until such a time that you can choose at least 2 available days.
  • Online payment via credit card is required at the time of registration.
  • Online Registration Instructions: please review before enrolling for the best outcome. Family Accounts are recommended for enrolling a child or children in any UNH youth program. Note: if you have an account in our system already, you will be asked to log into either a family or student account. Be sure you know which account you have and know your username and password. This will minimize difficulty and time while enrolling. Do not create a new account if you have one already. You can set up an account at any time so you will just need to log in at the time of enrollment.

Lesson Information:

  • All lessons must be completed no later than Friday August 18. Please take this into account when registering.
  • Refunds are not provided for any unfinished lessons.
  • Lessons cannot be held on Monday, June 19 or Tuesday, July 4.
  • All summer lessons are held at the UNH Outdoor Pool, 5 Edgewood Rd., Durham NH

How to Schedule Lessons with a Swim Instructor:

  • Once the online registration is submitted and paid, our Swim Lesson Coordinator will make initial contact with the adult student or parent via email. Our goal is to contact and pair the student or parent with an instructor approximately 4-7 business days after enrollment and payment.
  • Lesson days & times are arranged between the instructor and the student or parent once paired with your instructor.

Note: Swim lessons do not include admission to the pool for the day. Any family member(s) not taking a lesson who wish to swim and a child/student enrolled in a lesson who wishes to swim before or after the lesson must have a pool membership or pay the daily fee.
