This workshop will provide an introduction to the sedges (Family Cyperaceae) of northeastern New England. Using a combination of indoor and outdoor instruction, this workshop will focus on understanding and recognizing the unique morphology of sedges, mastering much of the terminology of a technical key, and identifying common New England species in the field. Strategies and suggestions for identification within the genus Carex will be discussed. This workshop is for all experience levels.
