Course Description

The latest update of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, DSM-5, provides a wealth of new ideas and theories related to the neurodevelopment of children. This comprehensive seminar will update educators and clinicians on DSM-5 diagnoses, provide current diagnostic checklists, and examine how development derails. You will learn the newest diagnostic criteria and features for these disorders: autism, social (pragmatic) communication disorder, pediatric bipolar disorder, and disruptive mood dysregulation disorder. Research on the neurodevelopment of children from the last three years will also be presented, reviewed, and evaluated.
