Course Description

Mindfulness is to be fully present, aware of our environment, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

Mindfulness has long been practiced in traditional Chinese and Okinawan martial arts through Sanchin. Sanchin is a kata (set of movements) of Chinese origin considered to be the core of several styles of Chinese and Okinawan martial arts. The name Sanchin, meaning "three battles/conflicts/wars," is interpreted as the battle to unify the mind, body, and spirit.

In this live online (Zoom) workshop, learn and practice Sanchin kata as a means of practicing mindfulness.
