CPCD-WR-09 - Annual Moorhead Writing Academy
Course Description
What is the Moorhead Writing Academy?
The Moorhead Writing Academy (formerly known as the Winter Writing Retreat) will take place in January and provide a space to work in the company of others. Many attendees find that this creates a sense of accountability and community. The Graduate School provides coffee, tea, and snacks to fuel productivity. Lunch is also offered daily. In addition to dedicated space and time to work, we have optional workshops scheduled to support your writing. Faculty members will also be available for consultation during the academy so you can get feedback on your work. This annual event was renamed to celebrate its tenth anniversary and to honor Dr. Cari Moorhead, Dean Emerita of UNH Graduate School.
Registration Instructions
You can register for as many individual days as you like. There are tiered awards based on how many days you attend, so be sure to check the details! You are expected to attend every day that you register for. Lunch and other perks will only be available for attendees.
Our optional writing-support workshops are offered on a drop-in basis. No additional registration is required to attend. We hope you can join us! This year's workshops will focus on conducting productive peer reviews, citation management, and goal-setting. A full schedule will be emailed to registrants beforehand.
Lunch Rewards
This year, we will be awarding additional free lunches at Holloway Commons the week after the retreat (1/22-1/26) for our participants. The number of days you register for and attend the retreat is the number of free lunches you can have the following week. If you attend the retreat for 1 day, you get 1 free lunch the following week. Attend 2 days, get 2 free lunches the following week, and so on. You will need to be swiped in by our staff, so please monitor your email for further details. Lunch will be provided every day at the retreat. These are additional lunches to reward you for participating!
