As most Kindergarten teachers are aware, our state, as well as other New England states are adopting a play-based curriculum for Kindergarten.
Play can often be misinterpreted as being totally unfocused and unworthy as a teaching tool. Let’s work together to really define play, all its components as well as classroom strategies to guide children’s play.
We will learn to implement the states’ initiative of play, focusing on a variety of content and multiple ways of teaching information via play. We may be surprised as we discover each child’s talents, needs, and abilities via a Universal Design Model of Learning.
