Considered the “gold standard” of psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a pragmatic, short-term, increasingly popular treatment approach that helps people to achieve better results in life through improved thinking habits. Based on the proven theory that our beliefs and thoughts influence our emotions and actions, the goal of CBT is to instill solution-focused, manageable strategies for thinking in ways that encourage psychological well-being and overall success.

* This is an introductory workshop for beginners or those wanting a refresher.

Taught by a CBT expert, this course consists of lecture, discussion, and interactive exercises. Those who participate can expect to:

  • Appreciate CBT as a contemporary psychotherapy modality applicable to adults in diverse populations and myriad settings.
  • Gain a working knowledge of basic CBT principles.
  • Learn techniques most commonly used in CBT.
  • Acquire CBT strategies for reducing stress, tackling relationship and work issues, and addressing depression and anxiety.
