Course Description

Mary Baker Eddy, born in Bow, was the founder and leader of Christian Science. She lived in many different areas, eventually returning to Concord, where she resided at 62 N. State Street while building her much larger residence at Pleasant View. Enjoy two tours in one afternoon, including a historic house and the magnificent stained-glass windows in a church just down the street. The tour will include the history of the house, her work and a large-scale diorama showing Pleasant View, where she lived for 15 years. Following the presentation at Mrs. Eddy's home, you will walk or drive two blocks to the First Church of Christ, Scientist at 33 School Street, a gift from Mrs. Eddy. While touring the church, you will view the stained-glass windows, the chime tower, and the pipe organ.
