Course Description

For centuries, New Hampshire's natural beauty has inspired poets from Robert Frost to Donald Hall, Maxine Kumin to Jennifer Militello. This class examines the way these and other N.H. poets have used the language of nature to craft poems that examine contemporary truths and resonate through the ages. After three weeks of careful reading and discussion, this class will culminate in an accessible trail walk at a local nature sanctuary and a guided poetry writing exercise. All levels of experience with poetry are welcome.
