Course Description

W.F. (Bill) Kidder's father opened a garage in 1911 which became one of the largest businesses in New London, NH. It eventually sold gas, repairs, winter auto storage, Fords, and Buicks. When Bill returned from service in WWII he began collecting things of historical importance, those that demonstrated Yankee ingenuity, stuff he found interesting, things that changed the lives of the owners, and early Ford automobiles. When the ice business folded the town icehouse was purchased as a winter auto storage facility. Eventually, his collection took over the facility, and six other buildings were built on or moved onto the property. The result is a huge fascinating collection of long-ago life. (Note: A suggested donation of $10 to support the museum’s efforts may be made by registrants during the class.)
