OLLI-CRTV-2089 - Weaving The "Harriet's Wine Basket"

Course Description

This basket class will be taught in two sessions (you'll be taking any unfinished work home after part 1 and returning with it for part 2). Please have made at least one previous basket in order to take the class. Blue Ridge's "Harriet's Wine Basket" kit has a finished size of 5 1/2" x 10 1/4" x 14 1/2". Each kit comes with detailed instructions, how-to diagrams, and all pre-cut materials needed, including 1 D-shaped handle, poplar wood, flat reed, and round reed. There will also be dark burgundy dyed flat reed available for the accent color. A team of three Chichester friends, who weave baskets for pleasure (and have made many baskets), will help guide you through the process of weaving this lovely wine basket. You can also opt not to add the divider and call this a tote basket! There will be natural walnut dye to use when your basket is done, if you wish. Wear comfortable old clothes and have willing hands. Use Google to see a photo of this beautiful basket!
