Course Description

With over-the-counter hearing aids making their debut last year, and the wealth of data coming from recently concluded long-term studies, we are finally talking about the importance of hearing to brain health. Just the way that vision connects you to the things around you, hearing connects you with people. In this course we will be exploring the now well-established link between hearing loss and the incidence of dementia. We will also be discussing the latest research from 2023, regarding how treating the hearing loss (properly), may affect the likelihood of dementia development and alter the prognosis of an individual. We will also discuss the availability of hearing care and how to navigate the hearing aid marketplace to meet the individual’s needs.
