Course Description

We are all too aware that this student exists in our classrooms. They are in dire need of point-of-performance strategies, targeted interventions, and trusted adult connections. In this class, we delve into Polyvagal Theory by exploring case studies of various elementary students and problem-solving how to identify underlying causal factors. From there, we experiment with using a collaborative team effort to create a consistent, supportive experience for the child.

Let’s give the child the message that we see them, acknowledge the tough stuff, and are ready to move forward—helping them build the skills for self-regulation.

Prior completion of "The Angry, Anxious Child in School" is recommended for a comprehensive understanding of the seminar content but is not a prerequisite.
