Course Description
This course is based on the Wondrium Series, Propaganda and Persuasion. We will watch the films and discuss the propositions that Professor Dannagal G. Young puts forth. Dr. Young suggests that we are inundated with efforts at persuasion everywhere, all the time. What is persuasion and how is it different from coercion, manipulation, and propaganda? After considering free will and how individuals must choose whether to change an attitude or belief, we will reflect on the ethics of persuasion and the social responsibility of those hoping to persuade us.Recommendations
