Course Description

Polarized. It seems our society has become more polarized than ever. Disrespectful rhetoric – intentional and unintentional – now fills the media, our institutions, and our workplaces. So, how do we interact with civility in this emotionally fraught environment? How do we interact with one another in a way that allows us to be productive while respecting the opinions of those with whom we may not agree? By the end of this two-session course, participants will be able to describe what civility is, describe why civility is so important, and describe the basic tenants of civil interactions.
