Course Description

As Ibram X Kendi says in his book, “How to Be an Anti-Racist” – it is not enough to “not be racist” – but only by actively being anti-racist can we begin to combat racism in all its forms: institutional, interpersonal, internal, ideological. In this 90 minute online webinar, we will explore ways to “walk the talk” and consider what it means to be an ally in the ongoing struggle for equity and justice. We will include a look at the challenges and opportunities for raising racially aware and culturally competent kids. Whether as a grandparent, relative, friend, etc. – if you interact with young people, you have the chance to make a difference. Participants will have the (optional) chance to share challenges and/or best practices so that we can learn from each other.
