Course Description

This entry level Fly Fishing/Angling Class will focus on the following areas: the angling history of northern New England, basic gear requirements, required fundamental casting techniques, and water safety concerns, both wading and by craft. Students will discuss the most practical times of year and the seasonality of the sport. Time will be spent reviewing the fundamentals of reading the water for trout, on fly selection and fly patterns and on relevant conservation concerns. Time will also be spent discussing responsible angling ethics.
