Course Description

This course will provide learners with an understanding of how mental health and suicide has become a national health crisis. Participants will become aware of stigma associated with mental health, warning signs, and risk and protective factors including reducing access to lethal means. Learners will be provided strategies on how to respond to a crisis including suicide ideation displayed on social media. Caregivers will develop ways to promote positive youth development and assist children and youth to learn skills to increase their connection, resiliency, and confidence.
