Course Description

Graphic Design for Everyone is a workshop specifically for those interested in producing better looking, more effective graphic design solutions. 

Course content will practice the tools, techniques and language used by graphic design professionals for creating online and print graphics.  Hands-on exercises and critiques will build your understanding of visual communication skills in typography, color use, image choice, and lay­out.  Advertising mediums explored will include websites, banners, flyers, newslet­ters, brochures, trade show displays, product packaging, presentations, and invitations.

Workshop goals and outcomes include: practicing professional vernacular and analyzing designs for effectiveness; experimentation with type, color, images and layout; recognition of the scope and responsibility of work; understanding the impact of media and its messaging.

Experience with Windows or Mac platform is required. Previous experience with Adobe Creative Suite is helpful, but not required.
