Course Description

Restraint and seclusion practices are strictly regulated to ensure the safety and well-being of children in care. Restraint is only permitted in emergencies to control violent behavior and must never restrict freedom unnecessarily. Seclusion involves involuntarily placing a child alone where they cannot leave. It is prohibited except for specific, controlled circumstances. Caregivers must report any use of restraint or seclusion promptly, detailing the incident, actions taken, and any injuries.
