PDT-BusLM-91 - Decision-Making Prowess: Navigating Biases to Mitigate Impact
Course Description
In today’s dynamic workplace, effective decision-making is paramount. Every day, we make thousands of decisions. Unfortunately, the non-interpersonal and interpersonal biases we harbor, often subtle and ingrained, can significantly hinder the quality of decisions made.
The impact of these biases plays out in recruitment and hiring, performance discussions, mentoring, job assignments, promotions/growth opportunities, organizational policies, customer service, marketing campaigns, and even just the ability to appreciate others’ ideas.
For organizations to thrive, it is crucial to understand how and where bias comes from, how they manifest, and how to increase awareness in order to mitigate the negative impact they may cause. In adopting bias-sensitive policies and behaviors, we can treat our colleagues, candidates, clients, and others with honor, respect and dignity so they (and the organization) can realize their full potential.
In this highly interactive (and guilt-free) workshop, we’ll explore how we miss seeing our various biases. We will shine a light on policies and practices that take our unconscious brains out of the decision-making equation. We will explore behavioral strategies that can affirm, welcome, and connect us to others in our organization and lead to actions, organizational policies, and culture that ignite individual and organizational performance.
