Course Description

This is a one-day, inside/outside course on the basics of soil map preparation.  The course will cover the definition of a soil map, the standards used to prepare soil maps, how to interpret soil maps, how to write soil legends and soil reports.  The students will be given topographic maps with wetland delineations and test pit logs.  They will be asked to prepare a soil map and a soil legend.
