AYP-CampRecTennis-02 - Youth Tennis: Level 2
Course Description
UNH Campus Recreation offers a 3-session introduction to tennis for students in Grades 1-6. The program focuses on developing quick tennis strokes and mechanics while fostering a love of physical education. Level 2 participants will use a heavier introductory tennis ball that have more weight, and participants will move from a reduced size court to a full court as skills strengthen. Please dress accordingly and bring a water bottle.
Minimal previous experience is required. Participants are grouped by age and/or tennis skill level. UNH Campus Recreation also offers Level 1 Tennis for beginners: Youth Tennis: Level 1
Participants are welcome to bring their own racquet. If the student brings their own racquet, these guidelines are recommended:
- Ages 6-8 should play with a 23-inch racquet
- Ages 8-10 are best suited to a 25-inch racquet
- Ages 9-11 should be playing with a 26-inch racquet
Lessons are held at the UNH Outdoor Tennis Courts, adjacent to the UNH Field House, 145 Main St., Durham NH. Additional information regarding program drop off and pick up will be sent via email from the Campus Recreation staff the day before the session begins.
Refunds are not provided for Youth Tennis, including for missed lessons.
