Each Unit:

  • Most Units consist of multiple modules, divided between two parts. Modules are asynchronous, self-paced, and on-demand.
  • Access to the Canvas Learning Management System will be provided on the first day of the term start.
  • Participants have the designated term length – typically 8 weeks – to complete the required submissions.
  • Required submissions are due by the end of the designated term.
  • From over 90 hours of available content, participants will select the materials they find most helpful to meet passing requirements and earn 20 hours of professional development.

Completers will be able to access transcripts that can be applied toward professional development for recertification or as part of an approved Site Based Licensure Plan.

Teachers not on Site-Based Licensure Plan may participate for professional development experience. Cost per unit is $300.  *The Professional Education Requirements program is $400 per unit as it includes an on-site coaching session by the Unit Reviewer.

The Center for Educator Preparation no longer has access to scholarship funding for these Professional Development Units.  Please discuss possible options for reimbursement with your district administrators.

Participant Guidelines
Participants in this non‑credit, accelerated pathway toward NH teacher licensure are asked to demonstrate strong mastery of each competency, which is why every submission must meet an 85% or higher. This standard reflects the level of understanding expected in graduate‑level preparation and helps ensure that candidates entering the profession are confident, well‑prepared, and ready to support students effectively.

  • Units are Self-Paced.  All submissions are due by the last day of the 8-week term.
  • A participant must score 85% or higher on each required submission to pass a Unit. Partial credit is not awarded.
  • A maximum of 2 submissions may be revised and resubmitted with permission of the Unit Reviewer.
  • Participants must retake and repay the enrollment fee for the unit if they:
    • Score below 85% on more than 2 required submissions, or
    • Fail to submit or receive approval for a revision request within the stated timeline
  • Coaching Sessions (For Professional Education Requirements Track Only): Participants must schedule and complete a Coaching session with their Unit Reviewer.  Scheduling takes place at the beginning of the term and onsite coaching sessions must be completed before the end of the 8-week term.

Open Enrollment: Participants may enroll in up to 3 unit parts any time within the enrollment windows indicated in the chart below. Credit card payment is the preferred method for checkout method.  Participants are encouraged to explore reimbursement options within their districts.  If an alternative payment method is required, please contact Kate Shumway-Pitt at kathleen.shumway-pitt@unh.edu for assistance.
