PDT-ComDP-26 - Microsoft Excel Advanced Mix (Module 1)
Course Description
This workshop builds on the basic concepts and skills learned in Microsoft Excel: Level 3 and provides a mix of advanced tools in a 3-hour course.
Topics covered will include:
- Power Query to Power BI
- Compare 2 workbooks and see the differences between them.
- Clean and manage data downloaded from my company database.
- Use VLOOKUP to return an entire row of data.
- Sort data by column headers, left-to-right.
- Useful Tips & Gotchas as time allows.
Requirements for this hands-on class:
Must have access to the Power BI desktop app locally (on your Windows laptop only, not linked to your company server). The ability to use Macros must be enabled at the security level. Add the following Excel Options Add-ins, if available: Inquire and Analysis Toolpak. If these options are not available, we will use other methods to compare files without having to use them.
There will be no troubleshooting offered in class. If necessary, tools are not available, you may observe.
This class will be at a comfortable pace for those users who are experienced with navigating Excel workbooks using the ribbon and/or keyboard shortcuts, creating basic functions of Excel, and who are well versed in absolute vs relative formulas.
Note: Viewing and refreshing Power Queries is available to all Microsoft 365 Subscribers. Additional functionality is available to all Microsoft 365 Subscribers with Business or Enterprise plans.
