Course Description

Regulation is more than just being calm and there are more strategies than just using fidgets and sitting in a Calm Corner. We’ll delve into the neuroscience about how kids learn, better identify the barriers that get in the way, and rethink regulation as a capacity issue. We will spend some time reviewing Tier I whole class proactive strategies examples that move far beyond mindfulness as well as responsive strategies for that 1 student with a focus on implementing the essential components and structuring procedures to make these strategies more effective.
